Our Animals
At Fort Rickey Discovery Zoo we have a wonderful variety of zoo animal species from all over the world. Some New York zoos specialize in large, exotic species like lions, tigers, elephants and giraffes. At Fort Rickey Zoo, we specialize in smaller more accessible animals, but we are more than just a petting zoo! Getting close to animals is an important part of the Fort Rickey Zoo experience for Central New York families. Fun for children is at the heart of what we do. Our best known residents might be the African Pygmy Goats, in our petting zoo area, however, the zoo is also home to Lemurs, Gray Wolves, Wallabies, Capybara, Otters, Tortoises, and many more! Currently Fort Rickey is home to nearly 40 different species! We hope you enjoy browsing and learning more about the animals at the Fort Rickey Zoo!
